[justify]Beneath the ground floor of the castle are found many passages, dungeons, and chambers. Some of these are easily accessible from doors that open off the Entrance Hall. Others are hidden and can only be entered by magical means.[/justify]

[justify]Double oak front doors open up to the west wall, leading into a large, cavernous room, lit by torches, with ceilings so high they are barely visible. The wide marble staircase opposite the front doors on the east wall leads up to first floor. Double doors on the south wall lead into the Great Hall. On the east wall are two doors, one on either side of the staircase. To the north of the staircase is a door leading down a flight of steps to the first dungeon level.

[justify]At the top of the marble staircase from the ground floor is the first floor. The Entrance Hall and Great Hall are several stories tall, so they extend into this floor from below.

[justify]Taking the marble staircase from the ground floor leads onto the second floor where the headmasters office and the office of the Defense Against the Dark Art's professor are located.[/justify]

The third floor is where the Charms corridor and the Hospital Wing are located. The Charms classrooms are large and airy rooms with arching ceilings and minimalist decor. The trophy room and armory are also located adjacent the Charms hallway. There is an ugly statue of a humpbacked witch lurking on this floor as well, some say there is something not quite right about her.

[justify]The corridor below the prefects' bathroom leads from the nearest staircase and up to the fourth floor. The Hogwarts library is on this floor. There is a shortcut down to the third and second floor by way of a small staircase with a trick step that students often forget to jump. It is also said that there is a narrow, hidden, corridor which leads to a mysterious mirror as well.

[justify]The main staircase from the fourth to the fifth floor opens onto a landing where a statue of Boris the Bewildered stands along the wall. The shortest route from the statue to Gryffindor Tower lies in one direction down this corridor while the Prefects Bathroom and Arithmancy classroom lie in the opposite direction. [/justify]

[justify]Not much is known about this floor other than it has been announced to be off limits to students. However, the main corridor is still used to transport between the fifth and seventh floor staircases.[/justify]

[justify]The Seventh floor houses a host of enchanted paintings as well as the entrance to Gryffindor House through the base of Gryffindor Tower. Divination takes place on this floor at the base of the North Tower although you wont find the entrance to this classroom unless you look up. The Charms professor's office is on the seventh floor as well. It is rumored there is a secret room that can magically modify itself located somewhere on this floor as well. [/justify]

[justify]The towers of Hogwarts stand at impressive heights around the school. From classes to residences, they fit student and staff needs alike.

[justify]During break times, many students choose the courtyard to pass the time. From catching up on a past-due assignment to pulling pranks, it's rarely a dull moment.

[justify]Hogwarts lawn stretches far and wide across the campus. First years are given their first flying lessons here. While venturing, one may encounter the vegetable gardens and greenhouses, or the dangerous Whomping Willow.

[justify]The Quidditch stadium is located on school grounds and serves as both a pastime and sport for students. Games are held throughout the year until two teams are left standing. The victor takes home the Quidditch Cup.

[justify]The Great Lake is at least half a mile in diameter and is home to freshwater mermaids, the giant squid, and grindylows. It is never advised for students to take a whimsical swim, especially not alone.

[justify]To the east of Hogwarts castle is a large, dark forest. This forest is strictly off limits to Hogwarts students, except for the occasional Care of Magical Creatures class or a particularly harsh detention. The trees of the forest are incredibly dense, but there are paths, brooks, and some clearings. Off the path, the way is almost impassable for those who do not spend time in within it. The forbidden forest is home to a wide and strange assortment of creatures; in fact, anything wild and dangerous that needs a place to live is put there. Most of those who have entered it have emerged hoping never to enter it again.

[justify]As soon as students reach their third year at Hogwarts, they are able to begin visiting Hogsmeade on occasional outings. The shops don't just serve the Hogsmeade community, but the Hogwarts students and teachers as well.[/justify]

[justify]Founded by Hengist of Woodcraft, Hogsmeade is the only entirely wizarding village in Britain. The South area of Hogsmeade sees a lot of traffic for its attractions and the occasional shop. The town is less dense the further into the South part one goes, and the site of cottages becomes more frequent as the residential area begins.[/justify]

[justify]The village of Hogsmeade is the only all-wizarding town in all of Britain and there are a fair number of witches and wizards living in it's charming residential area.[/justify]

[justify]The road out of Hogsmeade runs across several places located on the Village's outskirts. The road to Hogwarts winds around the Black Lake and is surrounded on one side mountain range in the distance.[/justify]
