[/li][li] There is currently a five character limit for each player. There will be opportunities to win more slots.
[/li][li] Icons/avatars must be 150 x 200!
[/li][li] For signatures, please don't make them wider than 450 px and no taller than 400 px. We don't want to stretch the board.
[/li][li] If you "ship" a certain pair. We ask that you contact the person playing the other half of your ship, if they exist, to discuss plot details. Do not join automatically assuming that everyone ships the same pairing as you.
[/li][li] There is no minimum word count, but please be courteous when responding to other players. We believe in quality over quantity.
[/li][li] Please check for grammar errors and use spell check. Nobody is perfect, but we'd like to understand what you're trying say in your post. Also, do not use chatspeak in your post. You will receive a warning if you do.
---- CHARACTER CREATION ----
[/li][li] Characters with magical creature blood are extremely limited. You must gain permission from all admins before making one.
[/li][li] Most wands will be made with a common core. Keep in mind that Harry Potter had an extremely powerful wand with a phoenix feather- not veela hair or chimera scale.
[/li][li] Not every character can be a pure blood or extremely wealthy. Some characters are just normal.
[/li][li] This application is very short and very straight forward. If it sits there unfinished for seven days, we will assume that you've lost muse for the character or won't be joining our site. It will be moved to the graveyard, and you may PM an admin to have it moved back if you decide to join later.
[/li][li] You are allowed to sign up with any account name when you first join (please nothing rude or sexual), but after you're accepted you must change your display name to the first and last name of your character {middle name is optional}, please make sure the name is in all caps!
[/li][li] For your character's face please use real life models or celebrities (cosplayers DO count), not drawings or anime pictures. Also, please do not use yourself. We don't want paintings or drawing or animations of any sort. Getting a play-by for your character is mandatory on this site.
[/li][li] Please use the template we have provided for you in the application section. If you do not use this template, you will not be accepted. You may add to the offered application, but please do not make it any shorter than it is. Putting up a 350 x 200 picture is mandatory. If you do not have an image-editing program, there are many members who do and who would be glad to help out.
[/li][li] Be creative. We don't want a million Barbie and Ken clones running around on here, and we don't want a bunch of woe-is-me kids, either. Try to make your character different and unique. On that note, no Mary-Gary Sues. As in, do not make your character perfect.
[/li][li] Every other character you make SHOULD be a canon or a want-ad character. Occasionally, there may be an imbalance in members which will allow for original character creation if certain conditions are met. (ie. If we are in need of Ravenclaws, you may create a Ravenclaw original character.) For other special cases, please contact the admins to see if this can be exempted- such as not feeling as if you'll do a canon/wand-ad justice because you're simply not interested. (Note: If you cannot handle a canon character due to activity, you do not need to have more than one character. You will be asked to provide examples of your activity via threads posted in regularly.)
---- GENERAL COURTESY ----
[/li][li] No Godmodding. This means that you or your character cannot control other characters or know things automatically. You cannot kill another character without the player's explicit permission (both parties must notify the admins so that no one is wrongly accused of god-modding).
[/li][li] No Powerplaying. This means that your character cannot be invincible during a fight. They cannot dodge every move and be accurate with every punch, kick, or throw. Be realistic.
[/li][li] Also be realistic about a character's position and power. Although godmodding is not allowed, your character cannot taunt a character simply because you think there will be no repercussions. If you do this, there WILL be consequences and the taunted character has full permission to put your character in their proper place short of killing them.
[/li][li] That said, a character in or with power cannot pick a fight with someone just in order to tear them down. The consequences rule only applies when a character blatantly disrespects a character in a powerful position.
[/li][li] No out of character drama. We all have real life drama. I don't know about you but most of us come here to have fun. We do not have the patience for petty arguments. If you have a serious problem with another member, contact the admins and we will do our best to help.
[/li][li] Be respectful to everyone on this site. If you have a problem with somebody, then PM the admin. Do NOT start a fight in the cbox or in a public thread. This will make us look bad to those who might consider joining the site, and it causes stress for members.
[/li][li] If things get out of hand, you will be temporarily banned. If you continue to misbehave, you will be permanently banned . 3 strikes and you're out. {There may be some exceptions. if what you've done is bad enough, you may get only one warning.}
[/li][li] Don't steal anybody else's characters or ideas (this does not always apply for canons- though we will find out if you copy a bio).
---- SENSITIVE SUBJECTS ----
[/li][li] Swearing, drugs, drinking, and violence are all allowed on this site. However, try to keep everything tasteful. We do not condone anything illegal on this board including drugs. While a character may suffer from addiction and the like, we want you to understand that it is a WORK OF FICTION.
[/li][li] Sex scenes may not be played out on the site due to proboards terms of service. If you and another player want to write smut on an instant messenger or chat site and not post it, that's fine. We can't control what you do outside of here.
[/li][li] Pregnancy plots are allowed, but each of the participating parties must contact admins and gain approval by all before continuing forward. Keep in mind that if you choose to make your character pregnant, you will have to EXPLAIN to the admins how you plan to raise and provide for a baby while attending school if you are a student.
[/li][li] As stated above, in accordance with proboards terms of service, nothing adult rated on the board. This is includes PMs. However, what you do through private messaging in the CBOX (which is not apart of proboards) or over an instant messenger is your business and we are not responsible for it. Please no fussing about this rule, it was not our decision.
[/li][li] Please deal with sensitive subjects that may arise in a character's history or direct rp such as rape in a very conscious manner. Some people are touchy about this, and there are subjects that need to be treated with respect, not as a cheap plot device ploy.
[/li][li] You may choose to have your character killed off, just alert the admins and let us know.
---- THE CBOX ----
[/li][li] You may swear in the cbox, just don't make it a habit (aka. every sentence, every other word, etc.)
[/li][li] Nothing R rated in the cbox. Seriously, guys.
[/li][li] Please keep "in character" chatting to a minimum. We are debating having one night a week be in character night, but sometimes to come on a board and see two people RPing in the cbox can be discouraging to new members, and it makes us look too lazy to write up posts!
[/li][li] That said, make sure a character is on this site, do not have character pop in that belong elsewhere (once or twice in a blue moon is fine, but don't do this continuously).
[/li][li] Please do NOT advertise in our cbox. We may allow members to mention a site they've made, but they need admin permission first.
[/li][li] Do not discuss other rp boards in our cbox, even past boards made by Fly and I. We know you guys get excited about plots and characters on other places, but please keep our cbox related to our site only.
[/li][li] Do not spam the cbox.
[/li][li] Again, no fighting in the cbox. If you have a problem with a player, pm them and politely try to work it out OR contact an admin if you need immediate help. If no admin seems to be on, simply say "Fly, Chii, please check your pms." and we will do so. We're here to help!
