Player's Name: Jules Other Characters: Remus, Erebus, Juliette Contacts: PM here or my admin account. Or find me in the cbox! Random Fact: I got in trouble for reading The Goblet of Fire in 5th grade because my teacher said it was "beyond my reading level" despite making a 100 on the reading level test.
Name: Lyre Caelius de Ville Alias: Lyre Age: Sixteen Birthday: September 15 Gender: Male, though his genetics might suggest otherwise. Blood: Pureblood. Sexual Preference: Unsure. Worst Subject: Charms. He doesn't do well with light and airy spells for his magic places too much power on them. He also fails at Transfiguration and Care of Magical Creatures. Hair: A dirty blonde color. For a boy, he keeps it rather long and wavy, but it is a common style in his family. Eyes: Pale, silvery blue. Height: 5'11" Weight: 135 lbs.
Lyre may not appear like much of a threat due to his pretty face and slim stature, but don't let appearances deceive you. He maintains a calm, polite composure at all times and seems to be against violence, seeing as he does not even like to participate in arguments. He'll back down from an argument rather than letting it escalate, however he has a short temper that he has to remember to keep in check.
Since childhood, Lyre was cursed with unstable magic partially due to the breeding of his pureblood lineage finally catching up to the family. He had to learn how to keep his composure at all times, even in the face of unpleasant situations. He did not have much a free childhood due to this, and often kept to himself rather than interacting with friends making him socially awkward to a degree. That is, his conversations are often deeper and of more significance to him unlike most of his peers. He is a very intense individual.
Certain situations bring out the worst in him. His magic is sometimes too chaotic to be channeled through the safety of a wand which can end up causing himself and others harm. His mother has commented on his fierce temper which brings out the worst of his magic saying that he could use it for a much "greater good" if he would just harness it at all times.
Lyre was born to a dying pureblood family- the De Villes. Despite having branch families that continued to carry out their legacy, he is the last remaining direct blood connection of the main family line. Through inbreeding and less than desirable methods, the De Ville bloodline remained untainted and has through its reign. It bares close family ties to the D'Antoine and D'Amorelle lines of France through various marriages in the ages.
The De Villes migrated to England from their homes in Italy in the late 1800s and began to send children from the line to school there. In 1958, Dartanian De Ville married Eyfura Eldjárn and brought her from Iceland to Great Britain to live with him. A little over a year later, they had a son: Lyre Caelius De Ville. Lyre was an odd child- he was unusually quiet and preferred to keep to himself. He rarely played well with others, though he was not cruel, he just didn't seem interested in interaction with his peers.
As a child he was quick to anger, however, and his temper was often the bane of his youth. His magic was too unstable to remain hidden (or manifest itself in the usual but harmless ways). Glass would shatter, sudden gusts of wind would blow in doors and windows, or objects would erupt into flame before his eyes. It is likely due to all of the inbreeding in his family that caused his magic to become so unstable over the years. He learned how to control it as well as his emotions and began to calm with age and maturity.
At the age of eleven, his parents decided to see if he would bond with the wand of one of their great ancestors, and so he was presented with the heirloom wands- it was the Acromantula web wand of his great, great grandfather. His parents told him to never mention its history and have not disclosed to him the status of his wand's core, knowing that if it were to be found out it would be confiscated. Regardless, he eventually moved on to Hogwarts where he made his parents proud by becoming a noble member of the House of Slytherin.
Lyre kept to himself, never seeking out even the comfort of his cousins. He preferred to watch others and listen to what they had to say. He remained friendless through the years until rather recently when he came out of his shell to befriend a fellow housemate. His parents are pleased to see he is starting to make ties with other pureblood families and encourage him to follow them through, however Lyre can't say he agrees with everything his parents, particularly his mother, stands for.
