Kyran felt the shift of air on his legs, an extra cloth of fabric covering them. He couldn't quite tell what Fala was doing, but he had guessed she had adjusted herself in a way to share the lower covering of her robe. It was unnecessary to try and share the fabric with Kyran, just having her weight on him was helpful – the girl would be the first to freeze, if their plight had got that extreme. “It's an area in my back, it hurts the most when I move my left arm... but I don't actually think anything is broken, at least not severely.” There was nothing that the two of them could do to help subdue the pain, there was no such thing as creating splints, and they couldn't very well use their own clothing to construct a harness – it should be saved for their warmth. This type of pain, he had gotten custom to it through quidditch games.
He didn't want to talk about the injury, and he had wished she didn't mention it. Yet he was aware she most likely asking where he had been wounded so that she wouldn't irritate it. Kyran would have mutually asked the same thing of her, seeing as they were in the dark; they only had their touch to navigate the trapdoor and to locate each other. For the time being, he kept his head back, allowing himself to glance over the ceiling. There was no sound coming from above, not a stir from anyone. Too bad this area was far from the Slytherin common house, or else he was sure it would become a hang out spot. Then again, if it had become a social area, Kyran never would have showed up in the first place.
The position Fala and Kyran both sat in were almost sort of intimate and gentle. Outside of this trap hole, he figured their relationship would be just the same. He would go back to his usual routine of avoiding company, too interested in his own problems and concerns to notice that another person may be able to help him. There was a lot of things outside this dark area that he left unfinished, and he didn't want to give them up; even if he had died here now, that would be the last thing on his mind. Going out as a failure wouldn't fit him. He focused his mind on levitating the girl up first, but it was no use, the same type of magic he had before coming to Hogwarts was no longer at his fingertips. Having such a rare make of a wand, passed through generations, made him rely on the power of that... rather than himself.
He should just leave Fala for now, to search for himself the area – the girl hadn't taken that long to search the premise. There could be anything missing, and it wasn't like they had their eyesight to really survey the area. Unless this was meant for death, then he was sure prisoners once were stuck down here until their demise. But Kyran felt nothing of skeleton remains. It wasn't like the two possessed a magical object to help them. His fingers curled into the girl's side, holding his fingers into the warmth as he casually relaxed on trying to find a solution. “There has to be a spell, something to help, but it's beyond my mind.”

Fala delved into the depths of her mind, searching for an answer, trying to think of a way to get them out of this situation without the use of their wands. They'd become to dependent, she wasn't sure if either of them would give off a burst of magic if they experienced an intense emotion...
While she tried to think of every book she'd ever read, every word she'd ever heard, Fala found herself becoming warmer due to Kyran and the cloak. Her eyes had closed on their own, and before she knew it, the girl had fallen asleep.
Approximately an hour later, she woke due to a sound. But as she stirred, blinking her eyes open, Fala couldn't quite figure out if the sound had happened in real life or if it'd been a part of her dream. Her brows drew together and she tried to think of hat the dream had been about...but as she simultaneously remembered the situation she and Kyran had found themselves in, it overpowered, and inevitably drowned her memories of the dream.
The girl gave a shiver, then shifted her body a little. Many part of her were sore due to the cold and the lack of movement. She decided that since she couldn't remember the dream itself, maybe she could focus on figuring out what the sound had been...
Without much thought, she turned to one side, letting both legs to move over Kyran's, her feet settling onto the cold ground on the other wide of him. The side of her one knee was pressed to his stomach, and her cheek was somewhere close to his collarbone.
A sudden, frightening thought entered her sleep-muddled brain and she quickly reached up to feel his neck. Once again, Fala hadn't thought to ask, but simply check for herself. The girl had been filled with the sudden burst of fear that...the boy who'd fallen into the hole with her had died while she'd slept. There was no way for her to tell how long she'd been asleep. But when she found a pulse in the side of his neck, her frame relaxed and she exhaled in relief.

His thoughts were overpowering at first, thinking in a rotation and all of the possibilities they had of getting out. All those classes they took through out their years now felt useless, and once Kyran did get out of here, he suspected he would start finding ways to rely less on his wand. Surely there was an emergency situation textbook somewhere. But as he thought about it and he sat in the cold darkness, he couldn't no longer tell if his eyes were open or closed. Somewhere between the shroud of conscious and unconsciousness, he felt himself drift, Fala's silence not helping any. With the throbbing pain and the cold coursing through his body, and the slight warmth of the girl's form on his, allowed him to drift off in one of those uncomfortable slumbers. Much like the first time when Kyran had doze off in front of the lake, where the two had first actually talked to each other. The caress of a hand upon his neck caused his eyes to open, and it was seeing little dots of fireworks.
There was no sense of time down here, and he was sure that it was night. Fala had moved somewhere now and she was sprayed in his lap, leaning against his torso, soaking up warmth she could. He felt too groggy to comment on it but he stirred a little, letting her know that he was now awake. Kyran went to move his left arm and felt that sharp pain again, forgetting that he had injured himself from the intense cold and numbness from not moving for so long. The silence felt so heavy now, and just coming out of an fulfilling sleep had soured his mood even more. This situation was impossible and unfair. Had no one noticed they were gone, and surely, this probably wasn't the first place they would look.
He moved his hand now, placing it firmly onto the girl's back for a second, the arm that had once been around her slightly unfastened from her. After a moment he reached the hand upward, caressing her spin so that he could slowly curl his fingers around the girl's shoulders. It was an acknowledging grasp. “I don't think I can sit here anymore,” he said, the impatience apparent in his tone of voice. If they sat silent and someone did happen to come and look around, they might just end up falling too. Yet, if they continued to talk amongst each other perhaps someone would stumble upon their misfortune position. Kyran didn't have it in him to yank the girl off of him, and he wasn't going to admit that he wanted her to stay close by to keep warm. However, if they were going to sit here like this and give up.... then what would become of him? He felt his pride and ego fighting for some possible answer.
Glancing upward at the ceiling, he was hoping that he had missed the tip of his wand hanging over the edge. But as he glanced a second time, he saw nothing. He had to think of anything to get them out. Kyran grumbled under his breath. “If anything, we should keep talking... and stay awake, perhaps we will end up being in earshot of someone.”
Little did Kyran know that he was in earshot of 'something', rather than someone.

She'd read somewhere that if one really needed to preserve and create heat with another person, skin-on-skin was the way to go. But she really wasn't in the mood for such contact, and the idea of removing her clothes down here made a series of shivers run through her body. The situation wasn't dangerous enough for her ti discard that sliver of pride; not yet.
Had they been in a different situation and Fala felt Kyran's hand move over her spine and to her shoulder the way it had...well her reaction would have been decidedly different. As it were, her spine arched only a little at the touch, and she released a soft breath. Her eyes once again strained to see in the dark, and she shifted her frame again. Everything felt so sore, she needed a good stretch, but the fear of getting colder was too great.
Fala really didn't want to move from that spot, but maybe movement would get the blood moving through their limbs, would warm them a little, "I could feel along the walls one more time..." though her fingers were numb enough that she wouldn't notice small changes in the stone.
Were they to die here? And if so...was she to never taste his lips?
Wait. Why of all things had she thought of that? Maybe it was their close proximity; so Fala supposed she couldn't deny her attraction to him, even in such a situation. Pathetic.
"If only one of us was Animagus..."
There were so many things that this situation was pointing out to her, things she couldn't do, things she didn't know. Fala was sure that the majority of the student population would be just as helpless of them, most of them would have been screaming from panic by now, but she still felt unbelievably useless.
"A reptile or a bird would be useful..."
She rubbed a cold hand over her eyes and sighed. There were a number of things she would take up studying if they got out alive, of that Fala was certain.
