Ursula’s probably the weirdest witch at Hogwarts. While most of her peers describe her as ’insane,’ ’crazy,’ or ’mental,’ Ursula prefers ’quirky.’ She’s smart, though no one gives her credit for that. Most people just see her as a nut job who wonders around, talking to objects or to herself. Ursula only talks to inanimate objects (and to herself) because they never talk back. People do talk back, and they usually make her feel inferior, so she prefers talking to chairs.
Even though Ursula does fine at her school work, she often feels like she does terribly. Often, she will spend hours reading, trying to understand the material better. Every once and awhile, she’ll seek out other students to help her. Most say no when she asks them to tutor her, but a few of the nicer Ravenclaws have been known to say yes.
Ursula hates seeing others feel bad, but most of the time she doesn‘t notice it. It‘s not that she purposefully ignores other‘s needs, but she can be oblivious to the world around her. Ursula prefers her own world, because there no one hurts anyone and everyone‘s happy. Plus, no one teases her or makes her feel stupid. In her world, she‘s Just Ursula and she‘s free to think her own thoughts, but in everyone else‘s world, she‘s Zany Zendil, the freak who talks to chairs and trees.
Ursula doesn't remember the day she was born. Though, that's to be expected. She was only just a baby, after all. She's been told the day was pretty and warm, given that it was August. She was born at exactly 6:38 PM, so it was just starting to cool down and beginning to get dark. Apparently, it was an easy delivery, which is good. She assumed the healers at St. Mungo's must have some sort of Potion to take away the pain, right? To her, that seemed logical.
Her childhood was nice. Unsula's mum was always around to watch out for her and to make sure nothing to bad happened to her. Her father was always working, so she didn't see him to much. It wasn't his fault though, her mother didn't work so he had to make ends meet. She's never blamed him for not being around a lot, even though her mother did. They used to get into terrible fights, but they always made sure Ursula was asleep before they did. How does she know about the fights if she was asleep, you ask? She's a very light sleeper.
Ursula's mother died when she was eleven. She was away at Hogwarts at the time, so she didn't see it happen. Apparently, her mother was shopping at a Muggle grocery store when a thief came in with a gun. She was one of four people who the man shot. Ursula was excused from classes for two weeks to go home and attend the funeral. People say she haven't been the same since then, but she really doesn't see a major difference. Yes, she is quieter, but what's wrong with that? She does talk, just not to many people. She prefer trees, chairs, sppons, walls, and herself to other people who are always judging her. She hasn't really grown close to her father since the death of her mother, but they aren't complete strangers either. He just works a lot and she do other things.
Many people think she's crazy, but she's really not. Ursula may talk to things, but doesn't everyone from time to time? Just because she likes conversations with walls better than conversations with boys doesn't mean she's insane. It just means she's different.
Anyway, now Ursula's a sixth year. She'll be leaving Hogwarts after next year and she still doesn't know what she wants to be. Oh well. she'll figure it out eventually.
