NAME: Andromeda Black is her name. It's a strong, feminine, and sophisticated name that impressed her parents, Cygnus and Druella Black. Seeing as how she is the product of those two, she would grow up to be a strong and sophisticated lady and therefore she deserved the best of the best when it came to names that would represent her. New nicknames tend not to stick for long periods of time, but she does find them interesting. AGE: Sixteen. BIRTHDAY: May sixth. GENDER: Female, of course. BLOOD: Pure-blood, of course, you wouldn't expect anything less from a daughter of the Black family. Especially a daughter of Cygnus and Druella. SEXUAL PREFERENCE: Heterosexual. WAND: Willow, Unicorn Hair, Thirteen Inches, Sturdy. PET: She uses a young barn owl from the Hogwarts Owlery to send letter to family and friends. SPECIAL ABILITY: She finds herself lucky enough not to have a special ability because she doesn't have to live up to the expectation at being perfect at it.

HAIR: Long brown tresses that fall straight down passed her shoulders, with a slight wave as it comes to the end. Dromeda takes really good care of herself and her hair, and she very much likes her appearance. She wears her hair down most of the time framing her soft face, and on the rare occasion hair will be tucked behind on or both of her ears (though it seems to be occurring more now than it used to). EYES: Almond shaped round eyes seems to be the center of attention, they are a light colored blue, but often - depending on her location or the lighting - they look green or brown. She's quite fond of her eyes, almost as fond of them as she is about her hair. HEIGHT: Like many of the Black family she is tall and has a patrician look that they all seem to share. She stands, with long legs, and equally as long a torso, at five foot nine inches. Just so happens to be an inch shorter than her older sister, Bellatrix. She finds herself often towering over some of the students, but she's noticing that more and more of them seem to be growing taller over the past several years and months. WEIGHT: Dromeda manages to maintain, with her height, at one hundred and forty pounds. Occasionally depending on her diet and how much she moves around and exercises how much she gains or loses, but it remains to be around one forty for the most part.
Being a middle child has made her slightly submissive when it comes to sharing her thoughts, feelings, and opinions. Those are things she tends to value and keep to herself, especially since she finds herself slightly opposing the idea that muggle-borns and half-bloods are inferior and bad for the wizarding world. Since she was raised to believe that these wizards are inferior to her, her family, and her sisters, she tends to keep those opinions, that maybe they all aren't so bad, to herself. It's a secret how she really feels, and she's loyal to herself, that no matter how much someone tries to get her opinion out of her, or to what lengths in which they'll try, she'll never tell the truth... And being a Black, she's pretty good at lying and getting her way when she has to, so keeping her secret a secret won't be difficult.
Andromeda is fiercely loyal to her friends and family, no matter the situation, given for the right reasons, she will back them up in a heartbeat. She's a strong willed girl, and she does lack a certain cowardliness, when it comes to having her family or friends back, or protecting her friends, she's always there at the ready to defend them when they need her. Even if the opposing person or people are being wrong about the way they are approaching something, Andromeda shows them respect and dignity, but she is never far from brash if she needs to be. No one will ever harm her family or friends in any way, shape or form. The one thing she loathes the most is when you show someone respect and they abuse it, she will defend the honor her friends and family deserves, and yet, even if it's undeserved, she still manages to show some respect for the opposing party... But don't be quick to assume that her opinion will change of you, because it won't. Her quickness to defend her family name, her sisters, and her friends, no matter who you are or what she believes... It's what makes her a Slytherin. They are set in their opinions, believe what they will, and they protect what they believe in. Andromeda believes in her friends and her family, doesn't matter who they are, therefore she'll defend them.
Otherwise, Dromeda is quite the friendly girl. She never fails to make friends, even with her being the slightly submissive girl. Assuming that it's because she has a calmer, softer approach than that of Bellatrix and Narcissa. Andromeda is the calmer of the two, as she's not as open about her beliefs or opinions, and she doesn't come off as thinking herself better than anyone. Andromeda finds herself to be an equal to all wizards and witches in her classes, she's kind and accepting of them all, but she never shows whether she is on a certain side or belief... No one really know how Andromeda feels, unless she says or shows otherwise, in which case it's never what people are truly wondering about. Whether she agrees with the other Slytherins, her parents, or sister, or if she's betraying what they stand for as pure-blood wizards.
Being loyal, and being friendly comes in handy when trying to make or keep friends. People see how you are with the people you are close with, they see how you act with them and how you would have there back, that making friends becomes something that's easy. She's loyal, friendly, nice, and she tries to make them all smile and happy. Just some qualities she thinks make a good friendship, and an even better friend. One can tell Dromeda pretty much anything, and it's locked in her mind forever. She's a strong girl, as she is the daughter of Cygnus and Druella, the sister of Bellatrix and Narcissa, so getting anything out of her can be a difficult task and a task that one won't win easily.
Andromeda is considerably decisive, she knows what she wants on most occasions; therefore, she'll often attempt to go after it. She's from a very noble family, so when it comes to certain things people often do not disagree or argue with her simply because of her name and what they stand for. Though, on occasion Andromeda finds this helpful whens he truly wants something, she also finds it discouraging because it makes her feel feared. She just wants to be like every other witch, strong, independent, free, and a good witch... She doesn't particularly like how sometimes she's treated differently simply because of who she is, and where she stands in life... But she never lets it stay in her head for too long; she doesn't like feeling upset.
Being the mediator between her sister's also goes to trying to be the mediator when it comes to house squabbles. Slytherin's are all so different and thick that sometimes they disagree on many things and tend not to always get along with one another. Her natural instincts kick in and she always tries to make them see eye to eye and get along, doesn't always work because a Slytherin who is strong in ego, which has been damaged, does not make for a good participant in trying to get along.
Despite what people believe, not all Slytherin's are bad. And not all of them believe that muggle-borns and half-bloods don't belong. She finds comfort in not being the only person that believes this, only, due to who her father is and how he is, and who her sister's are, she keeps her agreement to those specific Slytherin's to herself, simply for the sake that she doesn't want her father to get word, and she doesn't want Bella to take the fall for her anymore.
Believing that respect and kindness goes along way, she tends to try her best to win people over in such ways. She doesn't try forcing people, or persuading people, and she definitely doesn't cast people out because of who they are.
She does hold herself with great confidence and poise, and she does believe that appearance goes a long way as well, so you will very rarely see the girl in ratty robes or casual wear, and you will hardly ever see her hair in a tangle or even slightly grimy. Even if she doesn't always believe in what certain people stand for, she does have her own set ways... Cleanliness can go along way, as does kindness, respect, and loyalty. It just all depends on who you are and what you believe.
Andromeda is a pure-blood Black family member through and through, and it does show in the way she presents herself - as a well behaved and proper lady - and how she speaks, and manages to make people believe every word she says. That, and it's quite difficult not to fall in love with a Black girl... Or, to completely loathe them, either way.
Sure, after having one girl when they really wanted a boy to begin was a real damper on Cygnus and Druella, and they were more than happy that they were having a second child - hopefully a boy, but of course they were not disappointed when they had another baby girl. For when the girl was finally in the arms of her parents on a beautiful day in May the child seemed to be so calm. The baby only cried when she was in discomfort, and in the arms of her mother or father she would instantly stop crying and would start sucking on her thumb, or falling asleep in their arms. She wouldn't be a hard one to teach to be lady like or to teach the ways of the Black family Slytherin's. They could tell from the beginning that the child they named Andromeda would be an easy child for them, but of course, they had to bring the child home to Bellatrix, and for that they feared Bella just might get her fingers on Dromeda and change her ways.
With the teaching that pure-bloods were the only true blooded wizards and witches out there, and were the only ones that deserved to be recognized, the teachings started early and seemed to work to their advantage on their children. Bella being ecstatic and learning well that their blood-line was the best, Andromeda, though sitting quietly, agreeing to every word that was taught to her. Unlike Bella, Andromeda didn't get as much attention from her father as her younger and older siblings. Andromeda was cast to the side, the middle child, and she assumed it may have been because she was so easy and set in her ways that she didn't need much work anyway. Bella tended to argue, and ask too many questions, which seemed to annoy their father and set him in a fit of rage - which Bella was the target of. Andromeda just agreed and went on her way with no questions, hardly ever angering their father - though when she did Bella would always take the fall. Narcissa, who didn't come that far behind Andromeda was the baby, she seemed to do no harm, and even if she did, on occasion, anger their father, there Bella was, protecting them.
Growing up as the middle child wasn't all bad, but the lack of attention from ones parents can make a person close in around themselves. Andromeda was just agreeable, she agreed with all that she was taught, or all that was told to her, she never expressed her opinion, nor did she ever really speak out much... She tended to keep the peace between her family, being their to break up little tiffs between her sisters, trying to calm her older sister as not to anger their father - which would only work for a few minutes, it seemed Bellatrix had a knack for making Cygnus angry. And though Andromeda wasn't often the but of the abuse, she felt Bella's pain and tried her best to keep the peace of her older sister. By this time, she had become the person that wanted to keep things calm and agreeable, she didn't want arguments, nor did she want the abuse to happen anymore... But Andromeda had never been one to share her opinion, nor was she one to speak out much and stop the things that went down. She simply sat back, as if she wasn't there, which was pretty much the gist of her position in the family.
Cygnus shoved the fact they they were pure-bloods and in the Black family that they were superior to all walks of life, pretty much, and that every other witch and wizard that were not of pure-blood lineage were not worthy of the Black's, nor were they worthy to be classified as witches or wizards even if they possessed the magical qualities. None of that mattered if they were not pure-blood. That is what they were taught, from the very moment of their birth to the day they would leave to go to Hogwarts; and of course, the thing that Bella seemed to struggle with the most, behaving like a proper lady. On the offhand, Andromeda didn't necessarily understand why the bloodline mattered, if Hogwarts considered them witches and wizards who was she to judge them otherwise? Of course, seeing how opinionated Bella was, and how her father treated her, Dromeda new best than to question her father's teaching, however wrong she thought it to be. But she chalked it all up to being young, naive, and not knowing truly what any of it meant or how the other acted.
When her sister received her letter to Hogwarts, Andromeda feared that she would soon become their father new punching bag... But even with her older sister gone, and it just being her and Narcissa, Andromeda was treated like the middle child... Sure her father did get a little impatient with her, since she had become a bit more submissive than her siblings, but nothing compared to how he was with Bella... And he never showed her as much affection as he had with Cissy. Even if she felt a little neglected, she loved her sisters and would do absolutely anything for them, because she knew they would do the same for her. Bella had always been the protector, Andromeda saw herself as the peace keeper, and Cissy, though stubborn, was the baby of the family, therefore she was innocent and most likely would always be seen that way no matter her age.
The excitement of Andromeda receiving her letter was shortly lived, because, of course, Cissy wanting to already have her letter as well. Of course, it wasn't all ruined simply because of that. Her father had congratulated her, hugged her, and said how proud he was that his Andromeda was going to be going to Hogwarts. She would be placed in Slytherin, of course, and spread their family belief that pure-bloods are more superior than any other blood lineage that existed. Andromeda, she was just happy that she would be able to see her sister again, more-so on a daily basis than just on Hogwarts holidays and summers. Dromeda actually though it would have taken her longer to get everything set up, her robes, her wand; but it didn't seem to take long at all... Before she knew it she was sitting on the train and on her way to Hogsmeade Station.
From there, the journey doesn't take much turn. She and a whole bunch of other eleven year olds were taken to Hogwarts, and from there they were sorted into the respective houses. Andromeda Black of course was sorted into Slytherin, and as soon as that was done she took a seat by her sister who had welcomed her to the Slytherin house and started introducing her to people... Over the next several years, Andromeda opened up a bit more, making friends with people in her house, along with other houses, and gathering her own opinion. She didn't forget her father's teachings, simply put them aside and created her own opinions. She didn't have a side, and she didn't agree with one thing over the other, she was simply a Black in the house of Slytherin, a pure-blood, and everyone else around her, no matter their skin or blood, were witches and wizards of equal ability... There didn't seem to be much different apart from personalities.
One thing was for certain, her sister was absolutely bonkers, and her younger sister, when she finally arrived, was definitely not short of friends or fitting in. But at Hogwarts, Andromeda wasn't treated like the middle child, she was simply one of three daughters of Cygnus and Druella, the sister of Narcissa and Bellatrix. Nothing more, and nothing less. She was with her sister's again, doing well in school, still agreeing and not very much speaking her mind or opinion. She would do anything to keep her and her sisters together, and she would do anything in the world to please her father, but she didn't quite believe in his teachings anymore - but being Andromeda, she wasn't straight forward, nor was she open about her true feelings. She simply made people believe that she was on the same page as them, enough to satisfy them.
