PLAYER'S NAME: Meg OTHER CHARACTERS: None yet, but I do have one more girl in mind; granted that time actually comes along and I'm still in the muse for her. CONTACTS: PM this account (sethunya) or private message me on chatango (ohwoahmeg). RANDOM FACT: I'm particularly OCD about certain things. I also have two rabbits that I tend to talk WAY too much about.
NAME: Sethunya Khan [Say-thoo-nyuh Kon] is her name; and in her standards, it’s a name that should be known. Her parents knew the meaning of Sethunya was flower and they hoped their daughter would grow up to be the prettiest flower, and they weren’t far from correct, to their standards. ALIAS: Family calls her Seth, Sethy, or Flower, and close friends call her Unya. Of course, most of the people around Hogwarts call her Miss Khan. AGE: She's fifteen. BIRTHDAY: April 15th. GENDER: Female, of course. BLOOD: Do you honestly think someone of her stature would be anything but a pure-blood? She hopes not; because she'll have you know, for a fact, that she is indeed a pure-blood. SEXUAL PREFERENCE: Straight as an arrow, then again she’s never thought of such trifling affairs before; well, not as much as she has come to. Now she's grown to have her personal preference as to the the kind of people she would even associate herself with. She tends to keep her preferences to herself as to give people something to figure out for themselves. WAND: Hazel, Crystallized Boomslang Venom, 8 ½ inches, Sturdy. PET: Ever since Sethunya was a little girl she was into smaller things, such as flowers and small animals like rats; so when she found a little white and black rat beside her favorite batch of Petunia’s - coincidentally the year she received the letter to Hogwarts - she kept her and named her as such. That's how she came into having her little black and white rat named Petunia. SPECIAL ABILITY: None; but she is envious of those who do possess special abilities.
YEAR: 5th. HOUSE: Ravenclaw.
BEST SUBJECT: Transfiguration is by far her best class. WORST SUBJECT: Definitely, without a doubt, Defense Against the Dark Arts. QUIDDITCH: She's never been too interested in the hype of this sport on a personal level, but she will support her house and those who play religiously. PATRONUS: Even though she struggles in Defense Against the Dark Arts she was able to get one part down enough to find that her patronus is that of a butterfly; but that was once and she hadn't been able to do it since.
HAIR: Sethunya's hair falls to her mid-back in dark brown tendrils of waves. She tends to keep her hair silky smooth, soft, shiny and combed. She likes to present herself in a very clean way; thus she keeps her hair well groomed and maintained. EYES: Her eyes are a bright green in contrast to her dark hair. HEIGHT: She stands at a height of five foot three inches, just shorter than her mother by two inches, and her father by a foot. WEIGHT: With a slender frame and the tendency to eat less than one should, along with a high metabolism, she weighs one hundred and fifteen pounds.
Sethunya, with her family, tends to be active in the conversations. She makes witty jokes and keeps her family on their toes with jokes and riddles. She likes to keep them thinking, and many of her family, being in the line of Ravenclaw members, tend to enjoy the riddles as well. Her family tends to take leave in witty conversations, they keep up with Wizard news, and they are active in Sethy's life at Hogwarts. Her closer friends tend to be well known throughout her family either from talking about them herself or them actually taking refuge in her house for social events.
Often Sethunya, with her friends, isn't much different than how she is at home. Though not all of her friends enjoy the witty banter or the riddles as much as her family does. So, keeping the jokes to a minimum, and some of the banter that she tends to share with family, out of the conversations with her friends she's a rather social girl. She enjoys being around people that like her, that she too mutually likes. They share secrets, clothing, shoes, accessories, and sometimes tend to crush on the same wizards.
Around strangers Sethunya tends to mind her own, though she will take part in some small talk as to keep company. She is full of well manners and she wouldn't delve into a deep conversation about the private life of someone she had just met; their private life isn't her concern when they meet for the first few times in their developing friendship... If that is what it is to develop into.
On her own, Sethunya tends to keep to herself, as given. She likes to read, write, and doodle on her spare time or those times where she is feeling particular in need of some private time. She'll sit in odd places writing in her journal, reading a current book on something she wants to educate herself on, or drawing things on the blank pages of her journal. Of course, the girl is never truly alone, because no matter where she goes, or whom she is with, her little Petunia is always in a pocket or peering over her shoulder to see what her owner is doing.
With members from her house she tends to like to surround herself with the different things they are all knowledgeable about. It's vast in the things they can all learn and are all good at, but they all seem to share many things in common; which is possibly expected with them being members of the same house, per-se. Sethunya may not put many words into a conversation for the fact that she only knows a certain few Ravenclaw fairly well, the others are house acquaintances more-so then close friends to her. She'll definitely talk to them, given that they want to speak to her, but otherwise she'll mostly stay to herself and observe.
She's not much different with members from other houses, unless of course they are from Slytherin. Many Slytherin tend to look at the girl strange for being a pure-blood with friends not specific to the pure-blood line, they simply believed she was a traitor of the pure-bloods and disliked her for those allegations. She does not completely hate the Slytherin house, she just doesn't come short of loathing openly if they must say something to her or other Ravenclaws.
The Khan's weren't short of proud when they found out they were welcoming another child into their ever expanding family. This child would be the first born girl, of their family of three boys; and they were definitely ready for the challenge of raising a girl. If they could handle three active and high strung wizard boys, they could certainly handle a girl that would most likely grow to be the same.
In fact, because of the girl's more rambunctious temperament growing up with three brothers, it was assumed the girl would, when the time came, be placed in the Gryffindor house. Of course, she was raised by two successful Ravenclaws, and one of her brothers was also in the Ravenclaw house as he was in his first year when his sister was born. So, assuming the girl would grow into her natural temperament the older she became, they hoped, when the time came, that the assumptions would not be true.
Though, as her parents had suspected, the girl grew into her manners. Along with the manners she became quite the intelligent girl about butterflies, rats, flowers, and anything else that seemed to catch her fancy as a growing child. Her brothers always seemed to be bothered by the knowledge she had of those small things, but her eyes would light up whenever she learned something knew from observing and reading that she just had to share with her family.
Without her own knowledge they had subtle clues, when she was closer to the age, that she was finally coming into her magic. Simple little tricks, like flowers becoming bumble bees through random talk and the image in her head, seemed to actually occur. The talk of being a wizard was mentioned once in a while in her household, but it was not discuss in full until her eleventh birthday.
It was that day, when she was at home with her mother, and the letter came flying in through their opened windows, her mother had snatched the envelope from the little girl and told her she had to wait until her father was home. Astrid, the girls mother, held firmly to the letter for most of the day, beaming at her puzzled eleven year old daughter. When Sethunya's father, Tumelo, finally came home bearing presents for his daughter, her took the letter from her mother, kissed it, and then handed it over to the bouncing little girl.
At first she was puzzled, so were the conversations of her family about their actually being magic, true? Based on this letter, which she had held in her hand when she was eleven, it was true. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was an actual place, and one of her brother had been well off his way from there and the other two already in their second year. It was true... So, did this mean the girl was a witch?
Sethunya was a wise girl, and her mind wrapped around the idea fairly quickly when her parents explained their roles and the school and what she was. As soon as the conversation had finished she wanted to pack her things and head to Hogwarts; and with the help of her parents and her two older siblings she did. They helped her find her wand and her books; and no sooner had they done that the girl was already on her way to Hogwarts.
Her first four years weren't so bad, not only because she had her brothers there to help her out if she ever messed up something, but because she was making friends and slowly getting the hangs of being perfectly able to do transfiguration spells, and horribly awful at most things that pertained to Defense Against the Dark Arts. If the girl ever need to save herself, let alone anyone else, they were doomed.
And now, as her brothers enter their last year, she enters her fifth. And so the journey of being a Ravenclaw and the younger sister of the "self amazing" Khan brothers continues.
