It was early morning- too early for many students to be up, but for Erebus Faust, it was the perfect time to take a stroll. He had a rather long stint in the Hospital Wing lasting an entirety of two weeks. It had all felt so familiar to him, and yet he couldn't recall a time he'd set foot anywhere on these grounds much less the school. But Erebus couldn't seem to recall much in his life. He didn't know who his parents were or if he had any siblings.
But Professor Dumbledore had been very understanding when he had came to see him. Together, they had at least discovered his name and who he was. At least, that's what he thought. Dumbledore had not disclosed his own thoughts on who the boy might be- too little time had passed, and there hadn't been enough time to observe him. He had been sorted in the Headmaster's Office after he was approved healthy enough to leave the Hospital Wing. Slytherin? The word had a familiar ring to it-- he'd been given some school robes and a scarf for the impending winter.
The question remained how he was going to live during the summer, but he had a good eight months before that question needed to be seriously considered. It was strange... he had no place to call home, and yet he was expected to integrate into the school as if he had been there the entire time. The two girls that had found him wandering the forest had been told to keep the information to themselves- it wasn't every day a young warlock was found in the forbidden forest. There was no need to start unnecessary rumors.
He paused, frowning as he gazed out over the icy dark depths of the Great Lake. What did he have to be happy about? What had brought him to this forsaken place? Did it truly matter that he was "safe" now? He wondered if his decision and need to find people was just hardwired into his humanity- perhaps he would have preferred the solitude if had just had refrained from panicking once he had awakened. But he continued to believe that these people could help him to remember and fill the gaps that he could not.
He sat down at the water's edge and watched as the sun rose- it was a beautiful sight to behold; and, in this tranquil moment, he thought that perhaps everything would be alright within time. Patience was a virtue, one he would do well to remember.

Aindriu was up early once again, as per normal for the young librarian accompanied by his constant companion Vanity. While many, as he had learned over the years, disliked the mornings he had always loved them. It was something that he could only explain as the morning and something he would never want to sleep through like so many seemed to do.
This particular morning he had gotten up even before the sun and had been quickly joined by his cat. She had seemed quite accustomed to joining him in the morning as he walked around in the peaceful quiet before most others awoke. Now, it even included walking through the halls of Hogwarts, something that he never thought would happen again.
Their little walk led them outside quietly to the yards around the school. Vanity walked ahead scouting out if the morning had brought anything new to the yards while Aindriu walked slowly behind. He let out a quiet laugh as he watched the cat pounce on a leaf as if she were still a kitten. At least she was having fun, that always made the blond smile.
Though as quickly as she had been there, she had disappeared done with the 'dead' leaf that was left behind. Well hopefully she would be headed off to one of the normal places they visited in the mornings and he wouldn't have to worry if something caught her. Oh, why did he even think of such things?
Vanity knew the route they took almost every morning and had hurried ahead not wanting to wait for the man. She came up to the lake as the sun rose sitting next to the boy who was already there as if she belonged there. Well, in her mind, she did belong here waiting for that blond man who was much to slow sometimes.

His eyes flickered to the source of noise- light footsteps approaching him. It was only a cat; he knew just how these creatures to be. It was not in his nature to be mean to animals.
The thought made him contemplate and consider. So then, he had liked animals? No, he couldn't say that he had liked them, but he had respect for them in his own unique way. He tilted his head at her before reaching out and letting her sniff his hand before petting her back- he had wanted to make sure she knew his scent and that he meant no harm before he attempted to pet her.
The cat must have belonged to someone, and he wasn't sure if the owner was close or not. He frowned and looked around, only to see a person with long blonde hair heading his way. So much for peace and quiet, However, he was of the firm belief that he had came to the spot first, and this meant that he had every right to claim it as his own. If he found his company unfavorable, he would be the one with authority to send them away.
Doing what any normal thirteen year old boy would do, he pulled his black cloak up and covered his head before lying back in the grass- he didn't care that he would end up with grass stains on the fabric- that's what magic was for.

Vanity took a small sniff at the boy's hand before letting him pet her. She was most definitely not a cat to say no to attention, the more the better for her. The cat purred and arched her back with the boy's hand. She even licked his arm once maybe a show of thanks for the attention, who knew. Though when the boy looked back, she did as well waiting for her man to catch up with her still.
Aindriu was finally in sight of the lake and that little cat of his. It seemed to have made friends with someone, but he couldn't make out who it was from here. Well, it seemed well enough actually it was kind of cute to Aindriu with the shorter student, he guessed, and Vanity by the water like that.
The librarian came to stand next to where Vanity sat with the boy she had seemed to make friends with. Now up close he still didn't recognize who it was, though they were most definitely a student. Oh goodness, was he supposed to know who the boy was? Well he doubted the boy had just started, that was quite unheard of, but still. That and the fact he had never seen a student up quite this early like he usually did, most liked to sleep in for as long as they could before classes.
"Morning," Aindriu said quietly not really sure what to say but not wanting to not say a thing. That would just be awkward, right? At least thats what he thought himself and well himself was usually who he listened to about such things.
