James Potter is one of the cockiest guys you are ever likely to meet. He was raised knowing that he was quite precious and important, therefore he grew up being under that impression. This is not to say that he is not talented or shit at holding a conversation.James is quite athletic as well social.

His personality does have downsides however. While he does get along with almost everyone, those he does not get along with...they will usually become enemies. The person he detests most happens to be Severus Snape, and he will never pass up an opportunity to humiliate the Slytherin boy.

James is in a sense cruel in the way he treats those he dislikes. However, if one happens to be his friends (especially the three who happen to be his best friends) will experience the loyalty and support James has to offer. He will do almost anything for those closest to him.

His love life is not lacking, as there are a number of girls (most with little self respect) who like to throw themselves at the Gryffindor Quiddich captain. James indulged some of them, but they are nothing but passing fancies. Will someone come along who will catch his attention for longer? Or maybe forever? That remains to be seen.

James was born to a pair of elderly parents (even by wizarding standards) who are both pure bloods and considerably wealthy. He was not only brought into their family late in their lives, but was also an only child. Therefore James received one-hundred percent of both parents' attention. He was pampered while growing up, which many believe was the cause of his arrogant and boastful nature.

Both Potters were in Gryffindor while at Hogwarts, and therefore it was quite a relief, and no surprise, that their son was also sorted into the same house. James was of course happy about this, and started to make himself known from the beginning.

Soon after being sorted into Gryffindor, James befriended Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. They were soon quite inseparable and known among themselves as the Marauders.

The group of boys are now entering their sixth year at Hogwarts and have so far experienced a number of hardships, adventures, and joyous occasions, some of them being; James, Sirius and Peter finding out about Remus' "condition" around 2nd year, James, Sirius and Peter learning their Animagus forms in 5th year, and Sirius moving in with James and his family in the summer after their 5th year,

The boys are still close friends now as they begin the 6th year at Hogwarts. Will the rest of their stay at the school of witchcraft and wizardry be as exciting as the previous five years? Or will their lives settle down as they grow toward adulthood?
