A very kind girl, Lily tries her best not to discriminate. She is kind to Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws and Slytherins if they deserve it. Her best friend for many years is in fact a Slytherin (although they aren't friends anymore). Lily is also a very loyal friend, and will stand up for her friends, or anyone else who's being wronged.

She is very dedicated to her studies, and will be seen with her nose in a book more often than not. She particularly enjoys any reading to do with Potions or Charms. And when not reading about them, Lily can often be found practicing with potions or charms.

Lily isn't very interested in romance at this point in her life, and is well known for constantly turning down James Potter's advances. She hasn't gotten attention from many others, but she's turned those down as well.

Lily was born to Mr. and an older sister named Petunia in Cokeworth, England. She grew up with her muggle family, believing herself to be a muggle until she was nine.

This is when she became friends with Severus Snape, who lived down in Spinner's End, which was within walking distance of the Evans' house. He told her she was a witch, and taught her much about the Wizarding World.

Lily and Petunia were closer when they were younger, but Lily's magical abilities and her friendship with Snape caused a rift to form between the two sisters. Petunia was angry that she didn't have magical abilities (going as far as writing a letter to Dumbledore, asking him to let her go to Hogwarts as well) and disliked Snape for coming form a poorer neighbourhood.

At age eleven, she and Snape both received their Hogwarts letters and went to the school. Lily was sorted into Gryffindor and Snape into Slytherin, but they continued being friends despite this. Lily caught Slughorn's attention in her fifth year due to her skill in Potions, and joined the Slug Club. In fifth year,

Lily also ended her friendship with Snape after he called her a Mudblood when she defended him against Gryffindor bullies. Snape asked for her forgiveness, but she could not bring herself to remain close to him, as he was planning to join the Death Eaters.

Lily has seemed a little more reserved at times following the incident, sometimes appearing quite sad when she believes that no one is looking. She of course misses her best friend, but she doesn't see anything between them changing unless Snape chooses to walk down a different path than the one he's chosen.

She distracts herself with school work and her other friends, but to those who know her well enough, it is quite evident that something is different about her, almost as if a piece of her is missing.
