Player's Name: Fleur Other Characters: Edric Vosper, Narcissa Black and soon enough, Sirius Black. Contacts: PM, c-box and ask for my aim-name if that floats your boat! Random Fact: I finished the second LOTR book within 24 hours, between school and some (very little) sleep.
Name: Rheia Alba Lyndon Alias: - Age: Fifteen Birthday: June 3rd Gender: Female Blood: Halfblood Sexual Preference: Bi-curious, but too shy to actually start anything with any member of either sex Wand: aya wood with a Sarabha tail feather core, 8,5 inches long and inflexible. The wand was made in the far east, and is very uncommon in Great Britain. It was a gift from a friend of the family, and the girl cherishes it very much. It bonded with her upon first touch. Pet: A grey rat named Fibonacci Special Ability: Arithmancer
Year: Fifth House: Ravenclaw
Best Subject: Arithmancy, Potions, Ancient Runes Worst Subject: Defence Against Dark Arts Quidditch: No Patronus: Not yet
Hair: Dirty-blonde in colour, the straight hair reaches up to the middle of her back when the girl chooses to wear it down. But more often, she will braid it or have a practical pony tail. Eyes: Are probably one of her most distinguishing features. They are quite big, framed by thin eyelashes and have a curiously limpid blue-grey colour. The look in her eyes is observing and serene for the most part, but you will see a joyous spark behind them every once in a while. Height: 5'4" Weight: 111 lbs
The first word that would come to mind when describing this small girl is probably “nerd”. Rheia spends a disproportionately big amount of her spare time behind books, but her motivation isn't getting good grades, being better than her classmates or even accumulating knowledge. Although the last part is part of the fun, the Ravenclaw spends so much time reading because... well, because she genuinely enjoys the process of learning. Blessed with very rational and logical thinking, it's easy for her to memorize things and thus, Rheia has the top spot at almost every class. Yet her true talent lies in Arithmancy. Although it's a complicated subject most of the student body at Hogwarts has learned to dread, Rheia thrives on it. She loves the puzzles, formulas, numbers, and is uncannily accurate with her results and predictions.
Observing and contemplative by nature, Rheia doesn't take the extra effort upon her to actively seek out human interaction. That's why she may make the impression of being a shy or even a misanthropic person. While the latter assumption isn't really true, there is a bit of truth to the former one. It generally takes the blonde girl a lot of time to truly warm up to somebody, and before one has gained her trust, she will only talk if it is necessary and when she does, she will try to keep her contributions as short and informative as possible, resulting in quite awkward, unnatural speech mannerisms. If she is being annoyed, her replies are usually quite sarcastic.
With that being said, there is another, more playful and childish side to the girl that she shows to those who have gained her trust. Rheia is known to get quite silly around her loved ones. Her sense of humour is very dorky, she loves incorporating specific knowledge into jokes and enjoys a good pun (oxymoron?), and loves simple slapstick. While she is never the one to come up with spontaneous, crazy plans, she will let herself be tagged along and enjoy the experience.
Rheia encounters most things in life like she does friendship – with careful consideration, and hates being rushed or put under pressure in any kind of way. She faces big problems stoically and calmly, thinking every possibility though. Twice. So it takes time before she makes her mind up, but when she has, there is practically no way to change it. But not only her stubbornness can be seen as both a gift and a curse. While she does get excellent results when she is given the time to solve a problem, the opposite is the case if she's being rushed. That is the reason behind her rather poor performance at Defence Against Dark Arts: Rheia crumbles under pressure. When she's in distress to perform really quickly, she freezes.
Rheia Alba Lyndon was born on one sunny morning of June to a loving couple of wizards. The happy muggle-born mother, who was known for her fairly accurate divination results, had predicted her second child would be something of a black sheep in the family when it came to her abilities. But unfortunately, she would not live long enough to see her prediction come true.
Rheia was rather uncomplicated as a baby. Quiet and content with everything, the care of her wasn't much of a strain to the parents. Not much changed when she became a toddler, even if she became more aware and curious about her surroundings. She was the kind of child that could occupy herself with games and puzzles for hours and hours, and play alone and quietly in a corner of a room.
The tragedy hit the family when Rheia was only four years old. Rheia's mother got sick, the sickness weakening her severely, and her death followed quickly. It was very unexpected and shocking to all of the family and friends, but not to the woman herself, a fact that came to light only after her death. She had predicted her own death a couple of years ago, and had stared preparing for it, making arrangements for ease the difficult time of grief for her family after her passing.
Yet even if she had done everything in her power to aid her husband and children, the small family was left shook up and had to recover from the tragedy for years. The father was overwhelmed with being the only caretaker of two daughters, not to mention coming to terms with his loss, the elder of the Lyndon daughters was old enough to understand losing her mother, and was inconsolable. The only one who didn't seem directly affected by the death was Rheia, too small to truly fathom the extent of the tragedy. She did, however, feel the heavy atmosphere, that loomed over the family for years to come, and it affected her in subtle ways.
It wasn't much of a surprise for the girl that hadn't seen much of the muggle-world, since the pureblood father didn't know enough about it himself to properly introduce it to his daughters, when her acceptance letter to Hogwarts arrived. Her sister had left to attend the school a couple of years prior to her, and was sorted into the Gryffindor house, just like both their parents once were. Yet River didn't share their fate. Much like her mother had foreseen, the youngest Lyndon had different abilities and qualities then the other family members. While her father made use of his green thumb by growing magical herbs commercially, and her sister could do wonderfully creative transfigurations, River thrived in the logically structured world of Arithmancy.
